Antiques in France

by corey amaro

Spring is in the air, and the fleamarkets are filling up the scenery faster than the leaves on the trees. If you are coming to France forget the Eiffel Tower, let the Louvre hang out by itself, forego the caf├ęs, runways and the Champs Elysees! Instead grab your bag and head for the flea markets! (Remember this: wear comfortable shoes, go there around 7am for the best deals, and start by saying, "Bonjour!")

Here is a sampling of the things you can find in the South of France.
Little bit of French country anyone?
A souvenir to cherish!

The hand door knocker is awesome! Did you purchase it? :)

Klynnn,
Yes, I own these items. The door knocker is very common, most houses in the villages have knockers similar to this one on their doors. I especially liked this one because it had some paint on it...it hangs on our garden shed door.

ohhh - I never been to the ones in France (when I was there I was a teenager and more interested in the fact that I could drink than flea markets), but I did go to a wonderful flea market while in London a few years back - and it was so interesting to see things with a different definiton of "old"! France (Paris) is on my list to do again for Photos, and now antiques too!

Would it be possible to let us know what you spent (U.S. dollars) on these items? (or any items in the future) I love hearing what someone paid for flea market finds!

Bonjour
Farmgirlcyn introduced me to your blog.
We are with a fun little group that I know you would love.
My daughter is blogging her journal from a 6 weeks stay in Paris a few years ago.
Take a tour and visit savvycityfarmer on the blog...I'm sure we'll chat.
